CORY SNYDER – Manager
Cory grew up in Southern California. He was a three-time All American at BYU. He was a member of the United States Silver Medal Baseball Team at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Snyder played professionally in the Major Leagues from 1986-1994. He was best known for his season with the Cleveland Indians where he hit 33 home runs and 82 RBI’s. A powerful arm and amazing homerun power was his signature. From 2007-2009 he was Manager of the St. George Roadrunners of the Golden Baseball League. In just three years of existence, he guided the Roadrunners to their first Play-Off appearance. In the off-season, he resides in Elk Ridge, Utah with his wife and six children.
Brendan Sagara - Pitching Coach
Na Koa Pitching Coach Brendan Sagara enters his 12th season in professional baseball in 2010. During his career, Sagara has helped his ballclubs win two league championships, five division titles, and has coached 18 league all-stars. Sagara was voted the Frontier League Coach of the Year in 2007, as his Windy City Thunderbolts set the league record for wins while leading the league in virtually every statistical pitching category on the way to winning the league championship.
Sagara also captured a Northern League championship with the Gary RailCats in 2005, as his pitching staff set 16 franchise records. That year Sagara also mentored the NL Rookie Pitcher of the Year.
Born and raised in Wahiawa, Oahu, Sagara began his professional career as a pitcher in 1999, helping the Evansville Otters capture the Frontier League’s West Division title. Sagara pitched collegiately at the University of Hawaii Hilo, earning NCAA Division I All-Region nomination as a senior after setting school records for wins and winning percentage. Sagara was also selected the University’s Male Athlete of the Year for 1995-96.
In addition to his coaching duties, Sagara has also worked as a scout for MLB teams for the past five years, currently serving as a scout for the Atlanta Braves.
Sagara resides on Oahu in the off-season with his fiancée Michelle.
